Cobham u11s are a large and enthusiastic age group. We offer rugby to players of all abilities and experience. We promote good sportsmanship and aim to have fun so that our players want to attend practices on Sunday mornings.
Coaching is provided by parents who themselves attend training courses provided by the RFU. All participating parents are DRB checked.
Parents are expected to volunteer for occasional duties to help in the running of the club (eg. car park marshal, first aid, helping at home festivals, etc).
U11 rugby continues to build on the large changes introduced at u10. New rules for u11s include allowing more players at the breakdown, hookers striking in the uncontested scrums and the introduction of kicking at restarts and in open play.
The U11 rules are available on this England Rugby website link http://www.englandrugby.com/mm/Document/MyRugby/Players/01/31/54/17/boys-new-rules-and-player-progression-pathway_Neutral.pdf
We practice from 10am to 11.30am on Sunday mornings on pitch 5 of the Covenham Ground. The Covenham Ground is on the opposite side of the Portsmouth Road to the Memorial Ground (main Cobham RFC fields). There is parking at Munro House. Please do not park at the Fairmile Inn. Bar and catering are open at the club house on Sunday mornings. We require that each child remains under the supervision of a nominated adult (no drop and go).
