This was Cobham's second city lunch and following last years inaugural event the demand for tickets required a change of venue.
The choice was M Restaurant (https://mrestaurants.co.uk/threadneedle/) Threadneedle Street which was taken over to accommodate over 120 Cobham members, guests and sponsors. Cobham RFC would not be able to operate without the support of the sponsors and Tony Balkwill thanked them all .
Thanks must go to Tony who organised the lunch and arranged for ex England rugby International and TV commentator David Flatman to be the speaker and auctioneer. David provided excellent entertainment providing an insight into his on and off the field rugby career in particular highlighting Jason Leonard's 'mentoring' role. He also helped raise funds for the club selling auction lots with an unorthodox but very effective auctioneering style. Thank you David.
It was great to see so many current players attending the lunch, mixing with those players who hung up their boots many seasons ago. It was certainly a great way to finish the season and the atmosphere provided confirmation of just how important Cobham RFC is to so many people.
