Cobham RFC’s 1st XV finished the first half of their London 1 South season with a bonus point victory on the road at Dartfordians on Saturday (14 December). Two tries in each half saw Steve Pope’s team come away with a 17-22 win.
Flanker Olly Fox and winger Dan Allchurch both scored in the opening 40 minutes, with Tom Farrelly’s conversion giving the visitors a seven-point advantage (5-12) at half-time.
Allchurch’s fellow winger, Max MacDonald crossed in the second half along with hooker Theo Buffini to secure maximum points, against a Dartfordians side who pushed Cobham to the final whistle.
Final score 17-22.
Director of Rugby, Pope said: “This was a very tricky fixture, when you have the combination of an awful pitch, miserable conditions and a home team desperately scrapping for anything that resembles a win.”
“It was always going to be a tough day, but the boys did a job. It was far from our best performance and we left a few point out there for sure. We will need to be better next week at home to Camberley.”
