The Halo Group specialise in building temporary structures and mezzanines for hospitality, festivals and brand activations across the globe, delivering world class experiences to event organisers, brands, agencies, clients and industry suppliers. With the events and hospitality industry being floored by Covid-19 the team have been adapting and diversifying their current business model and are currently test building one of their creations at Cobham Rugby Club.
“Covid-19 hit the events industry hard, we were fortunate enough to be able to pivot the business to focus more on the design and build elements of our work and secured a permanent build project that has kept us busy,” said Gareth Chappell, Managing Director of the Halo Group. “It was always in our bigger plan to branch out into different industries. The last year has given us the time and headspace to explore the value our temporary structures can bring to industries like TV and film, construction, sports facilities.”
Halo has designed and fabricated their own unique modular steel structure that underpins all their creations. The structure offers the flexibility of a temporary building with the structural integrity of a permanent one. The business adds platforms and mezzanines to create a versatile space that can be up from a weekend to a year.
Having been designed for the events industry, the system can be built and de-rigged quickly, efficiently and safely. The Halo Group are quickly learning how valuable the system is outside events and are now using it in semi-permanent and permanent builds.
“When we were looking for a space to test build some of our new designs and components, Cobham Rugby Club seemed like the obvious choice,” continued Gareth. “Growing up in the area I have many happy memories from being at the club. The test build has been designed to be used as a workshop/warehouse in its current form but with some tweaks could become anything from an event space to a temporary garage for motor sport. Over the next 5 weeks we will be filming marketing content and bringing potential clients down for viewings.”
