At last week’s Annual General Meeting, two individuals whose dedication has shaped the development of Cobham Rugby Club were recognised. In a moment warmly received by all in attendance, Steve Heard and Peter Christie were formally awarded the honour of Life Vice President – a distinction reserved for those who have made an exceptional and lasting contribution to the Club.

Steve, our long‑serving Chairman, has been a driving force behind the club’s growth, stability and spirit. His leadership has guided us through key milestones, ensuring that the club remains a welcoming, ambitious and well‑run organisation. Steve’s ability to bring people together, champion new initiatives and support members at every level, has left an indelible mark on the Club’s culture.
Alongside him, Peter has been equally instrumental. His tireless work, strategic insight and unwavering commitment have strengthened the Braemar section and enriched the wider club community. His influence can be felt across countless events, programmes and improvements that continue to benefit members year after year.
A huge congratulations to them both.
